Where is the hotel located?

Chaconia Home Away From Home is located in Maraval, less than a 15 minute drive from the capital city of Port-of-Spain and 27 km (17 miles) away from Piarco International Airport.
 
The hotel is also less than a 10 minute drive from the expansive green space of the Queen's Park Savannah; spectacular performing arts shows at Queen's Hall and National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA); and the shopping convenience of three nearby shopping centres. The popular Maracas Beach is only a 30 minute scenic drive away.

I don't want to book online. Can I call you to make and pay for my reservation?​

Most of our guests find making online reservations and payments to be their most convenient option, but if you prefer, we can take your reservation by telephone and process your credit card payment manually.
Please call our toll free number, 1-855-215-2050 (toll-free for US and Canada), to reserve your room and provide us with your credit card details.
You will also have to submit a credit card authorization form, found here.
Outside of North America, please call 1-868-628-3210 or 1-868-628-2172.

Do you allow early check-in and late check-out?

Yes, subject to availability and a US$15.00 fee applied for each option.
Early check-in is available from 1:00 p.m.
Late check-out can be requested to until 2:00 p.m.

We enjoy having groups stay with us! Please reach out to us with information about your group and the dates that you would like to make a reservation and we will let you know what rates we are offering for that period.

Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi Internet is available to our guests in all of our hotel rooms and lobby area.

How much is a taxi from the airport?

Independent taxi operators usually charge about $60 USD per transfer for up to 3 people and their luggage. We will be happy to help with arranging airport transfers for you with some advance notice.

How do I get around once I am there?

We would be pleased to call you an independently operated taxi service to get you directly to where you want to go. Rates will differ depending on your destination.
 
Public transportation can also be hailed directly in front of the hotel.

Do you have hairdryers and irons? My luggage is too full to pack my own!

For our guests' convenience, we have a limited number of hairdryers and irons with ironing boards available for loan to our guests while they are staying with us. You will be able to borrow these items upon request of our friendly reception staff.

Are pets allowed?

Sorry, your furry, feathered or scaly friends cannot stay at the hotel.

When is the best time to book for Carnival?

It is recommended to book at least 6 months before Carnival as rooms are booked early.
